The congressman is on a four-day visit to Pakistan on April 20-24, where in addition to meeting with Islamabad's political leadership, he will visit Lahore, Azad Jammu and Kashmir to better understand Pakistan's cultural, social and political life. և economic potential, reports the Prime Minister's Office.
At the same time, the Prime Minister warmly welcomed him during his first visit to Pakistan during a meeting in the Prime Minister's Office, praised his convictions and the courage of the political struggle.
The Prime Minister expressed hope that this will lead to the deepening of contacts between the people, the strengthening of exchanges between the Pakistani parliament and the US Congress.
The Prime Minister stressed that Pakistan values its long-term relations with the United States and wants to further deepen bilateral cooperation based on mutual respect, trust and equality.
He stressed that the constructive involvement between the two countries can contribute to the promotion of peace, security and development in the region.
Issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting, including Pakistan-US bilateral relations, as well as regional situations. Agreeing that the United States is Pakistan's largest trading partner, the Prime Minister stressed the need to further deepen cooperation between the two countries, especially in trade and investment.
The Prime Minister praised the efforts of the Pakistani Diaspora in strengthening Pakistan-US ties, adding that Islamabad deeply appreciates their contribution to national development and growth.
The Prime Minister stressed the serious human rights situation in the Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, stressed the need for a peaceful settlement of the Jammu-Kashmir dispute, enabling the region to realize its economic potential and contribute to social progress.
The Prime Minister stressed that a peaceful, stable southern region can focus on its growth and development. He added that at the global level, joint efforts are needed to combat the catastrophe of Islamophobia.
In response, the congressman thanked the Prime Minister and expressed hope that his visit to the country will contribute to the strengthening of ties between Pakistan and the US Congress.
Omar meets with President Alvi
Earlier, the US Congressman called President Arif Alvi in Ayvan-e-Sadr.
Speaking on the occasion, President Alvin said that Pakistan appreciates its long-standing relations with the United States and expressed hope that constructive relations between the two countries will contribute to peace and development in the region.
He stressed the need for further improvement of bilateral relations in various fields for the benefit of the mutual interests of the two countries.
He briefed the visiting official on the atrocities committed against minorities, particularly Muslims, by the government led by Prime Minister Modi in India.
He said that India is involved in the genocide of Muslims, grossly violates their human rights.
He emphasized Pakistan's role in promoting peace in the region, as well as its sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
The President stressed that IT is a key area for investment and urged US businessmen to invest in this area.
Omar said that both countries have great potential to improve and strengthen bilateral relations. He praised Pakistan's role against Islamophobia, in particular, in the adoption of the UN resolution in this regard.

The Muslim congressman also met with former Prime Minister Imran Khan at his residence in Bani Gala, Islamabad.
Former Minister of Human Rights Shirin Mazari shared a photo of PTI President Imran Khan և Ilhan Omar on his Twitter page, saying that issues of mutual interest, Islamophobia and other issues were discussed at the meeting.

In response to the meeting, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah questioned her meeting with the US Congressman.

He went on to say why Imran Khan, who accused the former opposition of plotting against his government with the United States, was meeting with Americans.

The Interior Minister said that if Imran Khan does not find out about his meeting with the congressman, the government will launch an investigation.
